Bill Corbett is most known for his work as a writer and performer on TV’s Mystery Science Theater 3000, playing the robot Crow and alien Observer. He’s currently one of the three RiffTrax guys, along with his former MST3K partners. He’s a screenwriter, playwright, actor and comedian whose work has spanned decades.
His screenplay Starship Dave was made into the movie Meet Dave (who remained a starship), which was responsible for a P.R. tour of a model of Eddie Murphy’s giant head around the highways of the USA. His new screenplay Guinea Pigs is currently in development.
Corbett was the ½ of the voice of the King-Queen (along with Lucy Davis) and numerous other characters in Adult Swim’s animated series Tigtone. He was the voice of Perry the Parasite That Lives in Your Mouth in Cartoon Network’s Infinity Train. He played the titular character Edward The Less for the SyFy online animated series, and cowrote it as well.
He is a playwright whose work has been produced internationally, including commissions from the Guthrie Theater, the Nautilus Music-Theater Workshop, Otterbein University, CATCO, and Eye of the Storm Theater. Plays include: The Big Slam; Motorcade; Heckler; This Ridiculous Dreaming; The Medievalists; Hate Mail (co-written with Kira Obolensky); A Night On Olympus (musical co-written with playwright Jeffrey Hatcher and composer Chan Poling); and Super-Powered Revenge Christmas (later basis for a graphic novel).
He has created two podcast series, Bill Corbett’s Funhouse and Ringheads.
Corbett began his career as a fancy working stage actor and is now, at long last, doing some standup comedy. What could possibly go wrong?
