JoCo Cruise 2018 is a whole cruise ship (Holland America's ms Oosterdam) full of music, comedy, and general nerdery, departing from San Diego, CA for a 7-night adventure along the Mexican Riviera.
The 2018 cruise will depart from San Diego, CA on Sunday, February 18th and return on Sunday, February 25th, with ports of call TBA.
Performers include Jonathan Coulton, Paul and Storm, and friends from across the music, comedy, gaming, and writing worlds.
TL;DR: JoCo Cruise 2018 – February 18-25, 2018. Full ship charter again. Out of San Diego again. Booking opens February 25.
So, then, the bullet points:
- February 18-25, 2018
- Sailing on Holland America’s Oosterdam (sister ship to the Westerdam)
- Sailing out of San Diego to the Mexican Riviera; specific ports of call TBA (but will NOT be the exact same itinerary as 2017)
- We once again will have the whole ship
FYI, Booking for JoCo Cruise 2017 will end on Feb. 23rd—or when we run out of cabins, whichever comes first. So, you know…don’t dawdle.
Because we, like Alexander Hamilton, can never be satisfied, we’ve added YET MORE folks to our lineup this year.

We’re altering our itinerary for 2017. Specifically, we’ll have an extra day in Loreto. Specifically specifically, because on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, March 7 (i.e. smack-dab in the middle of JoCo Cruise), we’ll be holding a music and food festival that we’re calling “JoCoachella”.

In the meantime, here's the JoCo Cruise 2017 lineup:
Ports of Call (2018)
The JoCo Cruise 2018 itinerary will be determined after JoCo Cruise 2017 has sailed, and we’ve had time to assess and consider feedback from its attendees, conduct the necessary science to determine what ports of call will result in Maximum Cruising Satisfaction, etc. For now it’s safe to say that:
- It will depart from San Diego, CA on February 18, 2018, with planned stops in the Mexican Riviera
- The exact itinerary will be different from that of JoCo Cruise 2017
- You will love it!
