Ruby Ibarra is a rapper, spoken word artist, and director from the Bay Area, CA who has toured across the United States, Canada, and the Philippines. She is the co-founder of the Pinays Rising Scholarship program as well as the Bay Area independent record label, Bolo Music Group. She has been featured in notable publications such as Rolling Stone, NPR, Huffington Post, Paper Mag, Vogue Philippines, Billboard Philippines, The Today Show, T Magazine, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and The San Francisco Chronicle.
Ruby was a songwriter and soundtrack artist for Seasons 1–3 of FOX Network’s hit TV show The Cleaning Lady. Her songs “US” and “Switch” were featured in the popular video games NBA 2K23 and NBA 2K24. Later this year, her song “7000 Miles” will appear in the upcoming NASCAR25 video game. Her latest release, “Bakunawa,” is the first single from her forthcoming sophomore album and the winning song she performed in NPR’s 2025 Tiny Desk Contest. In Summer 2025, she performed a Tiny Desk Concert with her live band and went on to complete a sold-out 10-city nationwide tour. Most recently, she performed at halftime for the WNBA’s Valkyries at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Her music is available on all digital platforms and can also be heard in several museum exhibits, films, and television features.
