JoCo Cruise 2026 – Two Cruises?

As you may already know, JoCo Cruise 2026 (sailing March 21-28, 2026 on the Nieuw Amsterdam) is currently sold out. The wait list for this sailing is also very large. VERY large.

We may have an unexpected and unique opportunity to charter the Nieuw Amsterdam for a second JoCo Cruise sailing the week immediately following—that is, from March 28 – April 4, once again out of San Diego.

While there are still many open questions about this potential March 28th sailing, please assume the following to be true:

  • It will have the same itinerary as the March 21st sailing
  • It will have the same retail pricing structure as the March 21st sailing
  • The performer/guest lineup will likely be different, although there may be some overlap

As we work with HAL to determine whether this new second sailing is possible, we need to gauge the true demand for it. As such, if you are certain you wish to join 2026-B, starting Tuesday, April 1 at 12 noon EDT, you can go to deposit.jococruise.com to make a fully-refundable $500 deposit, and select a stateroom type (Interior, Ocean-view, Verandah (Balcony), Signature Suite, or Neptune Suite).

Please see below for pricing info and a more detailed FAQ about this subject. We know that this is unexpected and perhaps a lot to process so quickly. But we’re also very excited about the possibility of being able to share our event and this community with another whole ship’s worth of people in 2026. If you still have further questions, please email us at [email protected].

Prices listed below are per-stateroom totals, and reflect JoCo Cruise’s Semi-discount pricing (available for a limited time).

These prices reflect JoCo Cruise’s all-in pricing, which includes all costs necessary to sail aboard JoCo Cruise (cruise fare, government taxes/fees, and pre-paid Crew Incentive; see our FAQ for a full listing of what’s included and what’s not included in the above prices.)

DEPOSIT/PAYMENT DEADLINES

The new March 28th sailing would have the same deposit/payment deadlines as the current JoCo Cruise 2026, and would require the following minimum deposit amounts.

  • Due at the time of booking (if prior to June 6, 2025): 20% of your total booking cost (If the March 28th sailing is confirmed, we will send all $500 depositors instructions for completing this initial 20% minimum deposit)
  • June 7, 2025: 50% of your total booking cost
  • August 26, 2025: 75% of your total booking cost
  • December 8, 2025: 100% of your total booking cost

March 28th sailing FAQS

What’s all this about a second JoCo Cruise 2026 sailing?

JoCo Cruise 2026 is sailing March 21-28 out of San Diego, CA on the Nieuw Amsterdam. We may have an unexpected and unique opportunity to charter the Nieuw Amsterdam for a second JoCo Cruise sailing the week immediately following—that is, from March 28 – April 4, once again out of San Diego. We’re currently referring to this as “the March 28th sailing,” or just “2026-B.”

When will we know if this March 28th sailing is definitely happening?

Currently, the March 28th sailing is not yet confirmed; Holland America Line has notified us of the possibility, and we’re currently working both internally and with HAL to determine whether it’s truly feasible.

We can’t give a specific date yet as to when this would be official or not; but we hope and expect to know one way or the other by mid-April.

When would this second cruise be sailing, and what would be the itinerary?

This cruise would sail March 28 – April 4, 2026 out of San Diego, CA. (In other words, the week immediately following the existing JoCo Cruise 2026, which sails March 21-28.)

The itinerary would be the same as the March 21st sailing’s itinerary:

  • Sat 3/28 (Day 1):  San Diego, CA (depart 5 pm)
  • Sun 3/29 (Day 2):  At Sea
  • Mon 3/30 (Day 3):  Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (10a – 5p)
  • Tue 3/31 (Day 4): Loreto, Mexico (8am – 1 am)
  • Wed 4/1 (Day 5): Pichilingue (La Paz), Mexico (10am – 5pm)
  • Thu 4/2 (Day 6):  At Sea
  • Fri 4/3 (Day 7): At Sea
  • Sat 4/4 (Day 8):  San Diego, CA (arrive 7 am)

As with the March 21st sailing, we would plan to hold a concert in the town of Loreto during our stay there. (As of this writing, neither Loreto land concert is officially confirmed yet.)

March 28th – April 4th on the Nieuw Amsterdam is currently available as a retail sailing. Can I just book that right now, and then get “transferred over” to this second sailing if it happens?

NO, do not do this. If our March 28th sailing happens, existing retail bookings are not transferable to this or any other JoCo Cruise sailing. Passengers adding bookings to that sailing right now would, in fact, further hinder our ability to secure the ship for that week.

What will the pricing be for the March 28th sailing?

Please see our pricing list above.

Will the March 28th sailing feature the same official performers/guests as the current JoCo Cruise 2026?

The lineup of performers and guests will likely be pretty different between the two sailings, due to artists’ varying availability for two consecutive weeks. We expect there will be some overlap, but we couldn’t say right now how much.

Why do I have to make an initial $500 deposit?

Because we need a solid sense of the true demand for this sailing, requiring a paid deposit from attendees will help us determine the number of people truly serious about booking if it’s confirmed. (As opposed to, say, simply responding to a survey.) That said, if the March 28th sailing is confirmed, those who make this $500 deposit will get the opportunity to book the cruise before it opens to the general public.

Why are you only accepting credit cards for the $500 deposit? Can I pay with via ACH or a check?

Unfortunately, we can only accept credit cards for this deposit. (To be clear, debit cards may be used, as long as they’re Visa/MasterCard/etc.) If the sailing becomes a reality, your remaining payments may be made using alternative means (ACH, check, etc.) as necessary.

If you absolutely, definitely would book the March 28th sailing and absolutely, definitely cannot use a credit card for the deposit, please email us at [email protected].

Can I get a refund of my deposit if I change my mind?

Your $500 deposit is fully refundable at any time unless and until you complete your booking for March 28th sailing; once completed, your booking and all payments will be subject to the existing JoCo Cruise 2026 deposit/payment deadlines and cancellation policy.

Do I deposit $500 per booking, or per passenger?

Only one $500 deposit is required per booking, regardless of the stateroom occupancy.

How and when can I complete my booking?

Complete booking details will be posted in the event the March 28th sailing is confirmed. But essentially: for those who’ve placed a $500 deposit, the March 28th booking process would open several weeks after we’ve confirmed it’ll actually happen. (Depositors would get this booking opportunity before booking opens to the general public.)

What type of stateroom will I get?

When placing your deposit, you will select a stateroom type (Interior, Ocean-view, Verandah (Balcony), Signature Suite or Neptune Suite). Please only select a type that you definitely would book when the March 28th sailing booking opens. At that point, during the booking process, you will select a specific stateroom category. (For example, the Verandah type comprises nine different stateroom categories, which vary in price and maximum occupancy.) See our pricing list above for a full breakdown of the different stateroom types and categories, and their associated costs.

Why do I need to select a stateroom type when I make my deposit?

When the booking process opens for those who’ve made the $500 deposit, your stateroom type selection will allow you early access to book a specific stateroom of that type, before booking opens to the general public (The Verandah type, for example, comprises nine different stateroom categories that vary in price and maximum occupancy.) This helps give everyone the best chance of booking their preferred stateroom type.

Am I locked into the stateroom type I initially select, or can I change my mind later?

Your stateroom type selection will allow you early access to book a specific stateroom of that type, before booking opens to the general public. For example, if you selected Verandah, you’ll be given the option to book any of the nine different stateroom categories of Verandah (which vary in price and maximum occupancy). In the event your selected type has sold out before you are able to book one, you’ll be given an opportunity to select from remaining available staterooms of any type before general public booking begins.

If later on there are other stateroom categories available, you may select to move your current March 28th sailing booking to that category; but such a change would be subject to any potential price differences, as well as any applicable booking change fees.

Also: if you join the wait list for a particular stateroom type(s) on a JoCo Cruise sailing, priority wait list status is given to people already booked on that sailing. So, for example, if you wanted to book an Suite on the March 28th sailing but they were sold out, booking a Verandah or other type would give you priority on the wait list in the event any Suites become available later.

Does selecting a stateroom type during the deposit process guarantee me a stateroom of that type?

It does not. Your stateroom type selection will allow you early access to book a specific stateroom of that type, before booking opens to the general public. For example, if you selected Verandah, you’ll be given the option to book any of the nine different stateroom categories of Verandah (which vary in price and maximum occupancy). However, due to various inventory availability issues, your stateroom type selection does not guarantee you a stateroom within that type. In the event your selected type has sold out before you are able to book one, you’ll be given an opportunity to select from remaining available staterooms of any type before general public booking begins.

What discounts are applicable if I book the March 28th sailing?

All March 28th sailing bookings will be eligible for the following discounts, as applicable:

  • RETURNER DISCOUNT
When a booking’s Primary Contact has sailed on any previous JoCo Cruise, the booking will receive a “Returner” discount of $100 per berth off the full retail price, This discount applies to all passengers in a Returner’s booking, even if not all of them are Returners. Neat!
  • TODDLER/INFANT DISCOUNT – $400 PER TODDLER/INFANT
Children under the age of 3 as of the date of sailing (March 28, 2026) may receive a $400 per-child discount, which will be applied towards the total balance owed. This discount is automatically applied during the booking process.
  • CHILD DISCOUNT – $250 PER CHILD (AGES 3-12)
Children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old as of the date of sailing (March 28, 2026) may receive a $250 per-child discount, which will be applied towards the total balance owed. This discount is automatically applied during the booking process.

Complete pricing details will be posted on jococruise.com in the event the March 28th sailing is confirmed.

Can I book more than one stateroom on/make more than one deposit for the March 28th sailing?

You may only make one deposit for, and book one stateroom on, the proposed March 28th sailing. If you are genuinely interested in reserving multiple staterooms for March 28th, please email [email protected].

If I don’t place a deposit, will I still be able to book the new March 28th sailing?

Those who place a deposit will be given early access to complete their bookings. After that, booking will open to the general public for any remaining unsold staterooms.

If any stateroom types become sold out for the March 28th sailing, we will post a wait list you can join to be notified in the event any staterooms of your desired type(s) become available.

(This is all, of course, predicated on the assumption that the March 28th sailing becomes a reality.)

I’m already booked on the March 21st JoCo Cruise. Should I place a deposit if I want to extend my booking to both sailings or switch to the March 28th sailing?

No. If you’re already booked on the March 21st sailing and are interested in either extending your booking to both weeks or switching your booking to the March 28th sailing, you do not need to do anything at this time, and should not place a deposit on the March 28th sailing. If 2026-B is confirmed, we’ll send all existing March 21st bookings further instructions for either extending or moving your booking.

If I book now, can I switch to the other sailing once the performers are announced/if I change my mind later?

This initial time period is the only time JoCo Cruise will allow a direct “swap” of an existing March 21st booking to a March 28th booking in the same stateroom category without fees or additional cost. (You could also upgrade to a more expensive stateroom for the price difference between the two, but no additional fees would be added beyond that.)

If staterooms are available for either sailing later on, you could cancel your existing booking and book the other sailing; but this would be treated as a cancellation of your existing booking, and would be subject to any applicable cancellation fees at that time.

How would this second 2026 sailing affect my JoCo Cruise loyalty status?

Passengers’ JoCo Cruise loyalty status will be credited for attending either 2026 sailing. Because of the uniqueness of this situation, Diamond Supreme cruisers (people who have attended all JoCo Cruises to date) would retain their status as long as they attend either sailing, and are not required to attend both.

Passengers who attend both 2026 sailings will receive a special loyalty designation (specifics to be determined).

I don’t see an answer in this FAQ to the question I have. Where can I find my answer?

Understand that with this event still being theoretical at this point, there are some answers we simply don’t have yet. We will be updating everyone with additional information as soon as we are able, particularly in the event that the March 28th sailing becomes a reality.

That being said, if you have an urgent question that you don’t see answered here, you can email us at [email protected].
