All prices above reflect JoCo Cruise’s all-in pricing, which includes all costs necessary to sail aboard JoCo Cruise 2020 (cruise fare, government taxes/fees, and pre-paid gratuities; see below or our FAQ for a full listing of what’s included and what’s not included in the above prices.)
IMPORTANT: The ONLY way to book JoCo Cruise 2020 is directly through JoCo Cruise. No exceptions.
JoCo Cruise strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect your deposits in case of emergencies.
EARLY BOOKING DISCOUNT – $100 PER BERTH
Book by April 1, 2019 to receive a $100 per berth discount off the full retail price. Your discount will be applied automatically to your total balance owed. NOTE: this discount only applies to berths booked on or before April 1, 2019. Berths added after that date will not receive the Early Booking Discount. (Example: booked a double occ. cabin in March, switched on April 2 to a quad; those two extra berths would not receive the Early Booking Discount.)
RETURNING MONKEY DISCOUNT – $75 PER BERTH
Anyone who has sailed on any previous JoCo Cruise may receive a $75 per berth discount off the full retail price. This applies to all passengers in the Returning Monkey’s booking, even if not all of them are Returning Monkeys. Neat!
TODDLER/INFANT DISCOUNT – $400 PER TODDLER/INFANT
Children under the age of 3 as of the date of sailing (March 7, 2020) may receive a $400 per-child discount, which will be applied towards the total balance owed. This discount is automatically applied during the booking process.
CHILD DISCOUNT – $250 PER CHILD (AGES 3-12)
Children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old as of the date of sailing (March 7, 2020) may receive a $250 per-child discount, which will be applied towards the total balance owed. This discount is automatically applied during the booking process.
4% PAY IN FULL DISCOUNT
UPDATE: the Pay in Full Discount has reached its maximum for 2020 and is no longer available.
Passengers paying their balance in full at the time of booking may be eligible for a 4% Pay in Full discount.
Discount will be available to the first 300 bookings, or until April 1, 2019, whichever comes first.
PAY IN FULL NOTES:
Balance must be paid in full all at once at time of booking to be eligible for the Pay in Full discount; making an initial deposit and paying the balance “in a day or two” or any other type of installments are NOT eligible for this discount.
Pay in Full discount is applied to your booking’s remaining balance after any and all other applicable discounts have been applied.
Discount will NOT be applied to any berths added after the initial booking has been made (e.g., if you book a single occupancy room and then later add a second occupant, your Pay in Full Discount does not apply to the additional cost of that second berth).
CABIN SELECTION AND PREFERENCES
The initial booking process will place you in a “provisional” cabin; the process will also prompt you for any preferences of location, requests to be placed near specific other passengers, etc. While we can’t guarantee to fill every request, we will do our best to accommodate everyone.
Actual cabin assignments will be made in the following order:
- Anyone sailing on JoCo Cruise 2019 who has booked JoCo Cruise 2020 on or before March 16, 2019 (i.e., before or during JoCo Cruise 2019).
- Everyone else who has booked JoCo Cruise 2020 on or before March 16, 2019.
- Cabin selections for bookings made after March 16, 2019 will be filled thereafter on a first come, first serve basis.
Within categories 1 and 2 above, JoCo Cruise 2020 bookings taking advantage of the Pay In Full discount will be assigned cabins prior to those not paid in full. (e.g., JoCo Cruise 2019 cruisers who book JoCo Cruise 2020 before March 16th and are paid in full at the time of booking will be assigned first.)
NOTE: actual JoCo Cruise 2020 cabin assignments will not be made until several months following JoCo Cruise 2019. (Among other things, this allows us time to try to fulfil everyone’s cabin placement requests, which can be an extremely time-consuming manual process.)
JoCo Cruise 2020 requires the following minimum deposit amounts. All deposits are 100% refundable before May 1, 2019:
Anyone currently booked on JoCo Cruise 2019 qualifies for a special initial deposit amount if you book on or before March 7, 2019:
- Bookings made on or before March 7: $100 per person
- An additional $400 per person (total of $500 per person) is due by March 31, 2019
All other bookings (i.e., anyone not currently booked on JCC2019, and/or JCC2019 passengers who book after March 7) are according to the following schedule:
- Due at time of booking: $500 per person
- by May 28, 2019: an additional $500 per person
- by August 28, 2019: an additional $500 per person
- by January 11, 2020: remaining balance in full
Bookings made on or after January 18, 2020 will require payment in full at the time of booking.

- Medical services
Holland America Lines reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of light sweet crude exceeds $70.00 per barrel, according to the New York Mercantile Exchange Index. If imposed, this supplement will be passed on to all JoCo Cruise bookings.
Additionally, while it is not a fee, during your online check-in process, HAL will preauthorize (i.e.,place a hold on) a credit or debit card for each booking member’s onboard account—as of this writing, for $60 per day per person (total of $420 per person) for anyone aged 18+. Some banks may keep these holds in place for up to 30 days. If you prefer, you may also use cash or a prepaid gift/rewards card to pay this amount at the ship’s Guest Services desk on the day of boarding.
If Holland America Line increases its daily gratuity rates, the difference between the new rate and the current pre-paid gratuity rate included in the JoCo Cruise 2020 price (currently $16/day per passenger for suites, $14.50/day per passenger for all other cabins) will be passed along to all JoCo Cruise bookings.
AVAILABILITY / WAIT LIST
All cabin categories and prices listed above are subject to availability. (i.e., the fact that they are listed above does not necessarily indicate that a given cabin is definitely available; the actual booking process will accurately reflect current cabin availability.)
If your desired cabin category is currently sold out, or if you’re already booked but are seeking to switch to a currently-unavailable cabin category, all hope is not lost! A number of cabins usually free up due to cancellations.
In either above case, you can sign up on the JoCo Cruise wait list. When signing up on the wait list, just indicate which cabin type(s) you are interested in, and you’ll be notified if a cabin of your desired type comes available.
No exceptions will be made to JoCo Cruise 2020’s cancellation policy under any circumstances (including but not limited to: personal financial or health issues, adverse weather, or being denied boarding by Holland America Line for any reason). JoCo Cruise highly recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances that could impact your ability to sail on JoCo Cruise 2020 (e.g., a snowstorm, appendicitis, etc.).
You’ll have the option to apply to join Club SRO (Standing-Room Only), which is designed for JoCo Cruise guests who don’t need or want to attend every onboard main concert (e.g., nerd-adjacent spouses, people who don’t like crowds, or aren’t super-interested in the concerts.)
People who join Club SRO each receive a $100 credit to their onboard stateroom accounts and other benefits TBA. In return, they will not have guaranteed seating at the nightly Main Concerts, instead can either wait until after the show start for open seats (if available), or watch the show via simulcast in the Billboard Onboard lounge or later on via their stateroom TVs.
A limited number of Club SRO spots will be made available, at the discretion of JoCo Cruise. Complete info about Club SRO can be found in our FAQ.
